Biography:
Dr. Everett is a Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department at Rowan University. He teaches Engineering Clinic, Civil Engineering Systems, Engineering Graphics, Sustainable Civil & Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Technology for the Built Environment, and upper level Environmental Electives. His research interests are in Sustainable Design, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, Site Remediation, and Education Innovation. Dr. Everett has been at Rowan since Fall 1998. Before that he was an Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma. He was a visiting professor at Dalarna University, Sweden in 2005. He received his PhD, MS, and BSE in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Duke University.

Dr. Jahan is a Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department at Rowan University. She teaches Engineering Clinic, Environmental Engineering I, and upper level Environmental Electives such as Fate and Transport of Organic Pollutants. Her research interests are in Sustainable Design, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Pollution Prevention, and Education Innovation. Dr. Jahan has been at Rowan since Fall 1996. She received her PhD from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and her MS from University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. She obtained her BSE in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. She is registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada.

Biography:
Yusuf Mehta joined Rowan University in September 2001. Prior to joining Rowan University, Dr. Mehta was a Research associate at University of Florida. Dr. Mehta received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 1999 and and M.S. in Civil Engineering from The Oklahoma University in 1995. Dr. Mehta is a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey.

William Riddell
Associate Professor
Biography:
Dr. Riddell is an associate professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at Rowan University. His research and teaching interests include structural mechanics,materials, transportation safety and sustainabilty. Prior to coming to Rowan in 2004, Dr. Riddell worked for the US DOT, Research and Special Programs Administration in Cambridge, MA, and was a NRC Postdoctoral Fellow in residence at the Mechanics of Materials branch of NASA Langley Research Center. He received his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and his Ph.D. from Cornell University.

Beena Sukumaran
Professor and Chair of Civil & Environmental Engineering
Biography:
Beena Sukumaran is a graduate from Purdue University's geotechnical group and her research interests include studying the effect of inherent particle characteristics on shear strength of soils. Her other research interests include the use of discrete element method (DEM) to study the micro-mechanics of granular media and fuzzy set applications in geotechnical engineering. In addition, she also studies the performance of suction caissons for different soil conditions and works with the FAA to study the impact of the next generation of aircrafts on flexible pavements. She directs the research activities at the Soil Mechanics laboratory at Rowan.
