Welcome to the website of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rowan University. The discipline of Civil and Environmental Engineering, which is the oldest engineering profession, will take center stage in the 21st century as infrastructure construction and maintenance (Infrastructure Report Card) and energy and the environment (Engineering Challenges) become our nation’s priority. Our Department at Rowan is actively engaged in providing enriching experiences via our innovative curriculum to prepare our students to tackle these global challenges. Our program has seen a strong growth in areas such as sustainable development, green design, community outreach and global engagement. The CEE program’s teaching and research activities are one of the best with state of the art facilities. We have new research laboratories in the South Jersey Technology Park, a Masters in Engineering Management Program and a new Certificate of Graduate Studies in Sustainability, co-sponsored with Chemical Engineering. Our graduates are highly successful in research and the workplace as evidenced by employer feedback, graduate school placement and job placement.
